One of the things I suggest you look at is really taking
responsibility for the role that you played in your
foreclosure procedure.
You do not need to blame yourself for your foreclosure and I
am certainly not recommending that you do. However, I do
think that you need to really be honest with yourself about
the role you played and how your actions added to your
foreclosure.
Chances are that you made some decisions about your house
and about your life that contributed to your foreclosure.
Own up to those choices. It is not simple to do this and
truth be told, you probably do not want to own up to those
choices. It is uncomfortable and downright unsettling to
come to terms with how you contributed to your foreclosure
procedure. But this bit of honesty with yourself is
priceless so I encourage you to do it.
Choose to be financially responsible and accountable. In the
instant gratification society that we are part of, financial
accountability seems to have been relegated to the back
seat. Saving money and creating real budgets is not hot or
trendy. But if you desire to stop your foreclosure
procedure, you must be financially responsible and
accountable with your money. This means creating a budget
that you can live with and one that is within your means.
You also need to be aware of where your money is going every
month. This means tracking every penny that comes in and
goes out. The total of money that you drop on things that
you in truth do not require may shock you.
The second important thing that I suggest you do is take
responsible action with your lender. This means that you
start a conversation with them about how to save your home
from foreclosure. They may have options that will stop your
foreclosure procedure. The fact is that your lender will
foreclose on your house unless you do something to stop it.
What will you do? And even if they do not want to work with
you, you still have options. You can get help to deal with
your lender, you just have to ask.
We each have choices that we make each day. You get to
select whether or not you will be responsible for those
choices. You get to choose how you deal with your
foreclosure procedure. You can choose to be accountable for
your actions or not. The choice is forever yours.
