Foreclosure Procedure Help

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

What help is there for you in your foreclosure procedure? More than you might think, especially at this point. Because of the huge problem of foreclosure, there is more help now than ever to help you save your house, especially if the house is your primary residence. Most of the help out there is for homeowners who are in danger of losing their primary residence. So how do you get access to this help?

It could be as simple as calling your bank. Tell them your situation and ask them what they can do to work with you. Ask them if your loan with them qualifies you for any foreclosure help under President Obama’s foreclosure program.

Another good resource are those in your state or local government. There are many state and local programs to help educate you about foreclosure and to help you look at options.

HUD counselors and Hope Now are also good sources of information and help. They can also help educate you about foreclosure and what you can do to get help.

What You Can Do About Your Rights In a Foreclosure

Friday, May 8th, 2009

Unfortunately, your rights in a foreclosure are not determined by you. They are determined by your state’s laws and by your bank. Each state has unique laws regarding foreclosure. No two states are exactly alike in all of the details and particulars so it is important to know what the laws are in your state. There is not a whole lot you can do about the laws that your state has. They are what they are and you cannot change them.

When it comes to your foreclosure rights with your bank, there is a bit more leeway there. Many banks, especially now, are willing to work with you. But they need to have a reason to do so. They will have to know exactly what is going on with you financially in order to help you. They have different programs and options they can offer you but they have to know what is happening in your financial life first. Be prepared to be honest and to provide them with a lot of information.
