First off, where do you live? I can only comment on CA laws. A Lis Pendens is a a written notice that a lawsuit has been filed which concerns the title to real property or some interest in that real property. This is normally done if the property is in escrow. It lets the buyer know that something is up.
This is a legal dispute between the owner and a third party about the title or ownership of the proeprty. It has nothing to do with your tenancy.

I just got a notice of Lis Pendens on my rental. I’ve lived here almost 5 years. He owes me last and security. Can I stay here for 2 months rent free? Also, if I am still here after that 2 months, who would I pay rent to, if anyone? Help?
