I would go to www.hud.gov, and contact a HUD agent to complain and get advice. People have been getting evicted because the landlord goes into foreclosure, and Big Brother is now aware that it is wrong to have you put on the street due to no fault of your own.

I would also call my local politicians (Senator, etc.) and complain. When they are not busy pursuing power to control the money-flow, they are actually supposed to be representing YOU. This would be an appropriate time to come to your assistance.

I wish you a good outcome to the unfortunate nonsense.
References :
self

I would stay and pay the rent as usual because if the apt sales or gets foreclosed on whom ever holds the title will want tenants there it will be easier to sale rented property with ready tenants than having to rent them out after the sale and even foreclosures will either be for sale or auction off sooner or later if they didn't say move I would hang in there
